Making do

Getting into photography can be expensive! In my early years of getting into photography I learned using what I had and what I could afford, which was very little. I was nowhere near be able to afford the fancy gear that I would see other photographers using, and I remember it bumming me out. I also didn’t “need” those things that early into it. It taught me how to be resourceful and to focus on the craft vs the gear.

Fun Fact: I took this original photo using a cropped camera, a piece of flip chart paper taped to a wall, and natural light from a window. This is a great reminder of my journey and where I came from!
